Autumn Is Here
You'd Never Guess From The Weather!
As I write this, the sun is hot, the temperature close to 30ºC and I am wearing my sunglasses everywhere. This is nuts. It should be raining, blowing a gale, and my fire should be crackling in the hearth with Bella and Gracie curled up in front of it. I know, I’m moaning, but I love winter. It inspires me, and therefore, my writing. I suppose I’ll just have to wait.
Shedquarters Update
Drafting continues on book 4 of Silvan Outlands, and simultaneously, I am mulling over my next project. It has no name yet. All I can say is that it will be a strong female lead this time, and that it will take place in Bel’arán. That’s it, the rest is top secret until the idea is a little more developed. I’ll keep you posted, of course.
So that’s three projects on the table. Translation, drafting, and planning. Bella and Gracie are behaving themselves but I am not. I have had a few late nights recently, which means I can’t get up the morning - not the way I used to. This must change! The best writing comes just before dawn, at least for me.
Spanish Translations
Fel’annár and The Company have hit Spain. As you can see, book 2 of The Silvan Saga earned itself a number 1 spot in various categories, including epic fantasy. Well done, my boys!
You know, I was apprehensive about the translations, and while I still think they take something away from the original text, they seem to be more than adequate if ratings are anything to go by. So now, I am diving into the next book in the series. Hopefully, the series will continue to grow in the Spanish market. Where to next? Germany?
Goodies Galore!
One thing I really like about Bookfunnel promos is that you can find highly targeted books all bunched together. Now this collection promised to be just up my alley. But now, looking at the covers, I can see I am probably one of the very few authors who writes about elves and doesn’t have a main romance thread. I wonder why that is? Why is most elven fantasy all about romance? Don’t get me wrong. Romance is fine, but only as a part of the whole, if that makes any sense at all, LOL.
Tantor Audio is offering a special Autumn deal on Flight of the Shirán, Elven Worlds 2. It’s going for just 12,50 USD until the end of this month. If you haven’t started with Elven Worlds yet, this might be a good time to get book 2 while it’s on offer.
And Call Of Adakia audio is now on pre-order. Just one more month to wait! Don’t miss the sample, read, of course, by the incomparable Daniel Thomas May.
Next time, I hope to show you my cosy fire as the rain pelts down outside. That means I will be hard at work in Shedquarters. For now, back to the nasty Queen Duanib and her mind-warping acolyte hordes.
Take care.
