As an American living in a blue state just across the river from Portland, Or where there has been a certain amount of unrest, some of it deliberately misrepresented, I humbly suggest that you avoid the US at this time. The behavior towards perfectly innocent people crossing the border for very ordinary reasons has been unpredictable and rises to the level of deliberate harassment. No one needs that. Plus the situation is so unstable it is impossible to predict what may happen over the next few months.
As a romance epic fantasy that may or may not be classed as romantasy, it does have a strong female lead, and a strong male lead, although in a slightly different way, I suppose is fair to say. Right now, I'm leaning towards keeping it as epic fantasy and perhaps warning my readers that the dose of romance is significantly higher than in previous novels. Agh! Need to get my head around this!
Dear R.K.
It's what I was thinking. Whatever our political views are, I just wouldn't feel safe right now.
"To what extent will my current readers want to read romance, even if it is in an epic fantasy environment? "
I'd be very interested in that, especially if it's still got a male POV like the rest of your work.
As a romance epic fantasy that may or may not be classed as romantasy, it does have a strong female lead, and a strong male lead, although in a slightly different way, I suppose is fair to say.
