Pre-summer Surge, Writing Galore and Cover Reveals
The wind is howling under the eaves of Shedquarters, but writing continues inside, well at least now that I got my electricity hooked up again. Grrr…. It’s Levante, the hot easterly wind that sends everyone nuts, no problem for us crazy writers, eh?. I do object to it turning everything in my garden crispy though.

Upcoming Projects
The Silvan Bookstore. I’ve always wanted to sell my own physical books - paperbacks, hardbacks, and special additions. It’s a learning curve setting it all up, and admittedly, it will take some time. But hopefully it will be worth it. I am far too dependent on Amazon, and one day, that may well bite me in the arse. Besides, the quality of their printed books is not as good as it should be. You’ll be able to access The Silvan Bookstore from my website at rklander.com. I’ll let you know when it goes live.
New Series in a new sub-genre. It is hovering on the horizon, and my beta readers are ready to spring into action with code name DW1 FE. Some of you already know about it, so hush hush for now. But it’s exciting, and slightly different to what you’re accustomed to reading from me. Cover reveal coming in summer. For now though, here is a sneak peek of the cover for Battle For Adakia.
Battle for Adakia is nearing the end of draft one. Anyone who knows me will know that is the time I enjoy the most. Draft 2 and the magic of writing. Watch out for the cover reveal, coming very soon. You might be surprised. Fel’annár is not alone!!
Book V of El Silvano - yes, you guessed, The Silvan, went live a few days ago and Fel’annár is weaving his magic! I’m thrilled with the reception, and can’t wait to get the final book in the series out. We’ve reached #1 in all three categories, and made it to the top 100 in the entire store. Bravo Fel’annár de Lan Taria!
Book six of El Silvano will complete the original series in Spain. And then it’s on to German. Scary, because I lose control. Luckily, I have a native german speaker on my dream team who I know will be incredibly helpful when the time comes. (Thanks, Anke!)
Rant of the Moment
RANT STARTS: CUSTOMER SERVICE - what happened to it? Stupid question, I know. AI is fabulous for many things, but it can’t replace customer service. I have been waiting for “tickets” to be answered for two weeks now. Ingram Spark, Bookvault, Website hosting… This is a serious issue that has put my work back considerably. The only ones who have come through, after a week, is Bookvault. How is it we pay more and more for the services we need as authors, while the customer service gets worse and worse?

After reading your comment on AI thought I would throw my two cents worth. Maybe I'm old fashion and resistant to change but think AI is not necessarily a good thing, I had a friend who lamented the introduction of social media saying that it would take away some of the great things of the past. He said that getting a text was not the same and getting a letter in the mail and sitting to read it, then writing a response. He lamented that machines and computers took away from the human touch that we need. Well I have seen some AI that looks fairly real but it is something that is fabricated. It gives room for cheating and forgery. I mean really A clip of Chuck Norris battling a Neanderthal might be entertaining but couldn't really happen. And yes this is written somewhat with tongue in cheek but the loss of good customer service is a bummer. :-)

Estoy leyendo, que leyendo, devorando la quinta entrega y hoja tras hoja me sigue fascinando, empecé a leerlo en el AVE y tuve que esconderme porque se me volvieron a escapar unas lágrimas, me sorprende lo mucho que me impacta como expresas el amor, la amistad, la unión entre pueblos... Gracias, gracias y gracias por volverme a atrapar, espero poder leer pronto el 6º libro de la saga.
